Technically, kefir is a fermented milk drink that provides a plethora of good bacteria to help the microbiome. Practically, it is an excellent addition to smoothies or at breakfast poured over cereal. It is beneficial for children and adults alike (it can really help a hangover), and populates the gut with microbes that are essential to an optimally functioning immune system.
Our head cheesemaker and microbe guru Patrick has been making kefir at home for years but getting it market-ready was a new challenge. We wanted to offer an organic kefir which wasn’t mass produced, and of the highest quality, so we set about propagating kefir grains with our own milk and testing, tasting, testing, tasting.
